NIMA Labs 2025 Wrapped

As we close the book on 2025, we celebrate a year of remarkable growth, bold challenges, and exciting opportunities at NIMA Labs. Our experiences this year show that with a shared vision, we can achieve significant outcomes.

The Rebrand

In April, we changed our name from NIMA Enterprises to NIMA Labs. The change reflects who we are today and where we are headed. As our work increasingly centers on deep technical development within the blockchain space, our new name and visual identity better represent our role as builders.

Celebrating DragonSwap's Milestone

May marked an important moment for us as DragonSwap celebrated its first anniversary on mainnet. What began as a community-driven DEX on Sei has grown into a platform with a strong foundation and a clear trajectory forward.

DragonSwap began as Sei’s community-driven DEX, built to make trading fast, simple, and accessible. With the launch of V2, DragonSwap transitions into the professional execution hub of the Sei ecosystem, where capital settles instantly, and global finance finds its onchain foundation.

This shift reflects a broader change in how onchain markets operate. DragonSwap is positioning itself as the institutional gateway to Sei, designed for scale, reliability, and execution quality.

Commitment to Continuous Learning

At NIMA Labs, growth is inseparable from learning. This year, two of our frontend developers attended Nordic.js in Sweden, where they deepened their understanding of JavaScript under the guidance of Kyle Simpson, author of You Don’t Know JS.

The experience reinforced a belief we hold strongly: meaningful progress often comes through effort and challenge.

As Aristotle noted, “The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet.” That idea continues to resonate with how we approach both personal development and product building.

A Focus on Global Reach

Throughout 2025, we invested in expanding our global presence. By attending events around the world, we connected with builders, exchanged ideas, and learned directly from the broader blockchain community.

Showcasing at EthWarsaw

In March, we attended EthWarsaw, where we introduced DragonSwap to a broader audience. Our founder, Nikola, delivered a presentation on bridging the gap between Web2 and Web3, outlining our vision for a more inclusive digital landscape.

The opportunity to engage with fellow builders and industry leaders made the experience especially valuable for our team.

Devconnect in Buenos Aires

In December, we participated in Devconnect in Buenos Aires, the largest Ethereum event globally. Developers, founders, and researchers came together to exchange ideas across execution, liquidity, and cross-chain infrastructure. The discussions and relationships formed during Devconnect will continue to influence how we think about the future of our products.

Celebrating Growth in Q3

As we moved into Q3, the Messari Q3 2025 report showed that average daily spot trading volume on the Sei Network increased by 75% QoQ, with DragonSwap contributing the largest share of DEX volume. This growth reflects consistent execution and the trust of a growing user base.

From Intern to Engineer

This year, we launched a backend internship program with a clear goal: to identify and support long-term talent. Both interns who joined the program transitioned into full-time backend engineering roles. Investing in people and creating space for growth remains central to how we build teams.

Expanding Our Offices

As our team grew, so did our physical footprint. We opened a new office in Toronto and expanded into a larger space in Belgrade. Our Belgrade office continues to serve as the main hub for collaboration, product development, and day-to-day operations, bringing the team together around our core work.

Moving Into 2026

As we move into 2026, we carry forward the lessons, relationships, and progress made throughout this year. Our focus remains clear, simplifying DeFi and building systems that make onchain finance more accessible, usable, reliable, and impactful.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey in 2025. We look forward to continuing this work together in the year ahead.
